Michael has over 20 years experience in the highway maintenance industry. He started his career working in the materials testing laboratory at Northumberland County Council where he became the Senior Technician there.

He qualified to a Merit standard at HNC in Civil Engineering in 1992.
His career moved into the sales field in 1999 when his materials knowledge and personality gained him the position of Northern Area Sales Manager for RMC Aggregates.

Michael joined Northumbrian Roads in 2005 and his vast knowledge of materials and the local market made him the ideal choice for  the role he now enjoys.

He has been a key player in realising the company’s desire to become a manufacturer of both  coated and recycled products.
Michael is a member of the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management and has recently served as Chairman of the Institute of Asphalt technology.
